I’ll stop talking about West Ham

Sam AllardyceSo, the day after I write a post about how excited I am about the amount of goals we’ve been scoring, and how excited I am about Sam Baldock’s future at Upton Park, we end up failing to score a single goal against bottom of the league Bristol City.

Not only that, it was during a home game “under the lights” where historically we’ve been nothing short of impressive. Bristol City have the worst defensive record in the league, and we can’t stick one in the back of their net. Disappointing.

So far this season, I’ve been to two games at Upton Park – both ended in defeat. I feel I am the most jinxed Hammers fan there is, so maybe I won’t blog about my matchday predictions anymore, and I certainly won’t be predicting a 4-0 home win again too soon.

Big Sam just emailed me (and probably 40,000 others) to say we’ll take this point and move on. Trouble is, Southampton keep taking three points and moving on…. moving a long way on. If they keep up their brilliant form, then you could say there is only one automatic promotion place left up for grabs, and if we keep dropping points to teams like Bristol City at home, it won’t be us claiming that place.
